Three days through

Hi everyone,
  As you can see, I have not been able to keep up with my posting during this, my fifth, Master Cleanse.  I had a hard time getting started for some reason and didn't begin when I had written that I was going to.  Something about the time wasn't right, so I'm "Behind" where I had hoped to be by now.

  This has made me accept that I won't get 15 days in before the home school convention.  I've counted that it will work to get 12 in, though, if I come out of it on the end with my first meal of solid food coming on the last day of the convention.  Then, too, I wondered if maybe the Lord wants me to fast all the way through the convention to lend more umph to my prayers that God be glorified in ALL that is said and done there.  Have you ever noticed how you pray more earnestly when on a fast of any length?

Anyway, yesterday was my third day so that means that the worst part is over.  I am happy to say that I haven't had the aches that I had with the earlier cleanses.  I suppose that is because I have gotten rid of those poisons earlier on.  Praise the Lord--that means that each one will most likely be easier than the last.  :)

Here is the latest on the Parental Rights Amendment.  The newest development here is that we will be taking a table at the used book sale, during the home school convention, to try to collect more signatures.  Have YOU signed the petition to try to influence our federal legislators to co-sign the Amendment?  If not, PLEASE take the time to do so by going to the link on the forward below--parentalrights.org

Planned Parenthood Attacks the
Parental Rights Amendment

No doubt you’ve heard about
Planned Parenthood in the news lately. They’ve been criticized for covering up
the sex trafficking of minors, and they’ve come under media investigation. Their
dishonorable techniques have once again been exposed by Live Action’s president Lila Rose. They have
counseled an investigator posing as a pimp on how to avoid detection and yet get
abortions and other related services for girls as young as 14 and 15. Of course,
Planned Parenthood is utterly committed to the proposition that parents have no
right to knowledge or consent of the activities of their teenaged daughters when
they walk in the door of these deadly clinics. Even if the girls are being held
as sex slaves, Planned Parenthood wants to keep both parents and government out
of their grisly business.

And, of course, one of the most stalwart and
effective defenders of the rights of Planned Parenthood to secretly perform
abortions on underaged girls is the American Civil Liberties Union.

Lila
Rose, a young woman raised by a fine homeschooling family in California, has
taken on the giant of Planned Parenthood and she is winning. She is the example
of the kind of young person that is sent forth to help America become a better
place when parents are free to train their children in truth and uprightness.


I was at a meeting this week with the Speaker of the House and other top
leaders in Congress and the pinnacle of the talk was on Lila Rose’s activities,
as well as a movement in Congress to defund
Planned Parenthood – they received $363 million in government (tax payer) funds
last year.

I pointed out that Lila Rose had been homeschooled and that we
needed to be sure that the Parental Rights Amendment is passed to ensure that
all parents have the ability to be involved in the crucial decisions for their
children’s future.

There was a good reason that Planned Parenthood and
the ACLU were on my mind during this meeting with the Speaker of the
House.

Last week, when Montana’s Senate Judicial Committee considered a
resolution urging Congress to adopt the Parental Rights Amendment (PRA) and send
it to the States for ratification, Planned Parenthood of Montana, the ACLU, and
the Human Rights Campaign (a “gay rights” organization) spoke against it.

For all their troubles now, Planned
Parenthood remains a heavy hitter with an annual budget of $1.117
billion – and they have taken aim at the PRA. Not that they succeeded
in this case – the resolution passed out of committee by a vote of 7-5 on Friday, and will now proceed to the Montana
Senate floor.

But Planned Parenthood will not stop
there. Like a cornered beast, they will lash out wherever they can, and
right now that seems to mean our resolutions and Amendment.

We cannot
hope to counter the misinformation campaign of Planned Parenthood unless we all
recommit ourselves to a deeper involvement in this issue. Remember,
Planned Parenthood received $363 million from the federal government
last year; we didn’t receive a dime. We are dependent on concerned
partners like you if we are to keep spreading the truth. Please consider helping
us in the following ways:

1) Please donate today. Advertising isn’t free. Our
website isn’t free. Our staff is very lean and we need to be able to meet our
obligations to them and their family. Our giving this year is down and we simply
cannot lead this effort to victory without your support. We need your support in
this crucial hour. If you can give on an ongoing, monthly basis, please check
the appropriate box on the Donate form. But whatever you can give, please do it now.

2) Track the status of the resolution in your
state and be ready to speak in its favor. Please email Michael
Ramey if you can speak to a committee to support a resolution in your
state. If you live in Montana, call your state senator now and
urge him (her) to support SJ
9 in favor of a federal Parental Rights Amendment. You can identify your
senator and find contact information here.

3) Get ready to fight in Congress. We have been
working behind the scenes in the House to put together a new leadership
coalition to lead our efforts to pass the PRA. Our former champion, Pete
Hoekstra, retired from the House to run for Governor of Michigan. We have
assurances from the GOP leadership in the House that they will help us push the
PRA. I fully expect that we will have hearings, committee votes, and then floor
action in the House this year.

This is our time to push the PRA through
the House of Representatives. We need your help now more than ever. Being
attacked by the likes of the ACLU and Planned Parenthood is a good sign that we
are on the right track and that we are getting close to
victory.

Pressure

Please take a few moments to read this update as to the affects of our efforts last week to get more Congressional cosponsors for the Parental Rights Amendment. It was rather appalling to me to read in this summary these words, "Another office said they agree with the Amendment in principle, but would need to hear from a large number of constituents to overcome their hesitation to amend the Constitution."

What a disgrace!!!!!!! Our leaders are sitting in Washington D.C. KNOWING what the principles are but IGNORING them unless WE THE PEOPLE put pressure on them to do the right thing!!! Well I, for one, am willing to give them enough pressure until they DO the right thing instead of just sitting around only thinking about it. My goal here is to give you all enough information to make an informed decision about how YOU want to go about putting pressure on these people to save the family as we know it. They obviously don't have enough character to do the right thing on their own. Will you help me? PLEASE!!!!!

If you need more information before you can take an active part in the battle, then PLEASE go to parentalrights.org and read about how important this battle is. Ever since March of this year, we here have been pondering what we can do to help. I guess the most important thing, it seems to me, is to get the people informed about how the lack of the amendment will destroy the family unit as God designed it. That is NOT what I want for my children and grandchildren and I KNOW it is not what you want for yours. PLEASE help us now while there is time.

Michael Farris explained it like this. "If we would have gotten the people involved in the fight against homosexuality right away in the beginning, this thing never would have gotten out of hand. Well, the same thing is going to happen if we dilly dally around with the parental right's amendment. There will come a day where it is too late to stop the erosion of the family in America." PLEASE STUDY THIS TOPIC AND GET INVOLVED TODAY, DEAR FRIENDS, SO THAT WE NEED NOT LOOK INTO OUR CHILDREN'S AND GRANDCHILDREN'S FACES SOME DAY AND HAVE TO TELL THEM, "WE HAD A CHANCE TO SAVE THE FAMILY, BUT WE WERE TOO BUSY!!!!!!!"

First and Goal
Last week, we urged you to call Congress and to get your friends involved, and many of you have done that. We heard from one congressional office that by Thursday they were no longer taking names; they were just keeping a tally of how many phone calls they received about the Parental Rights Amendment. Another office said they agree with the Amendment in principle, but would need to hear from a large number of constituents to overcome their hesitation to amend the Constitution.
We have not seen new cosponsors added to the bills (H.J. Res. 42 and S.J. Res. 16) yet, but these and others are indications that we are very close to getting some crucial new cosponsors on board.
In football terms, this is "first and goal." That's when a team hasn't scored a touchdown yet, but they have gotten very close - and now it's time to seal the deal.
This week, we need to keep up the pressure so that we will see names added to the list of cosponsors. Just 3 or 4 Democrats are probably all we need to see many more from that party sign on - and we have reason to believe there are that many very close. That's why we're calling it "first and goal."
Now let's get that score! If you haven't already, check to see if your representatives are already cosponsors and get their contact information by clicking on your state at parentalrights.org/States. Then, call the Washington office of those who are not. Finally, forward this email or otherwise urge all your friends to call them, too.

Through the media, we are only hearing about health care - and we should be hearing about that. But on Capitol Hill, they are hearing from us as well. And that has produced major progress this past week. Let us not grow weary now. A major score is in sight - let's make it happen this week!

Gun control

This came in today and it confirmed my already strong beliefs that we need everybody in this country to have a gun and know how to use it. Please call your congresspeople to help stop this outrage.

The great pay-back has begun, and it's going to be ugly. The gun grabbers in Congress are paying back the anti-gun extremists who put them and Barack Obama in office.

Hi, this is Congressman Paul Broun from Georgia. I wish I had better news, but you and I are facing an assault on our gun rights like we've never seen before.You see, H.R. 45 is Barack Obama's gun control package, and it includes the most vile anti-gun measures he's supported over the years.It's only the first step......but it's a HUGE step.

H.R. 45 establishes a NATIONAL gun registry database of every gun and its owner -- for the whole county! Your private information and every gun you own would be in the system.But that's only if you succeed in buying a gun in the first place!And since H.R. 45 dramatically increases requirements for firearms purchases far beyond those ever proposed, you just might find youself incapable of buying a firearm once this bill takes effect.And it gets worse too.The National Association for Gun Rights has a survey ready for you to complete, but I want you to understand just how dangerous this bill is before I give you the link. Please bear with me for a moment. You see, H.R. 45 would establish a national gun registry database which would:
Increase requirements for firearms purchases, far beyond those ever proposed.
Create a national firearms registry overseen by the Federal Government.
Invoke Draconian penalties for bookkeeping errors related to the Federal Firearms Database. It gets worse though. Sarah Brady and her allies in Congress want to force you to take a written exam to prove that you are "fit" to exercise your Constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. I'm outraged by this, and I know you are too.
I'm sure I don't have to tell you that gun registration has historically laid the groundwork for total firearm confiscation. Citizen disarmament is the watchword of tyrants everywhere. In fact, the most brutal dictators of the last century were famous for their gun registration and confiscation schemes. But H.R. 45, Obama's National Gun Registry and Citizen Disarmament Act, is more than just a forced registration of all firearms in America. The bill also makes it increasingly difficult to buy a gun in the first place.
Taken right out of Sarah Brady's Christmas wish list, H.R. 45 includes a laundry list of new restrictions on firearms purchases. In addition to the outrageous national gun registration requirement, H.R. 45 also requires you to:
Pass a written examination to purchase a firearm.
Release your medical records -- including confidential mental health records -- to the government to get your "fitness" to own a firearm approved.
Observe a two-day waiting period before all firearms purchases.
Pay a gun tax of $25 or more on all firearm purchases. Moreover, H.R. 45 bans all private firearms sales and maximizes penalties for minor clerical errors in dealing with the national gun registry. The list goes on and on. It's enough to turn your stomach. I know I don't have to tell you, but these restrictions make a mockery of the Constitution. "The Right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" might as well say: "You have no rights." If a two-day waiting period, a written exam and a gun tax aren't infringing our rights, I don't know what is!
Even the Supreme Court's recent Heller decision guaranteeing an individual's right to own a firearm doesn't hamper Barack Obama's agenda one bit.In fact, it emboldens gun grabbers to pass legislation taxing ammunition, increasing registration requirements, and drastically limiting when, how and where you can use your firearm.That's why I've decided to stand with the National Association for Gun Rights fight back against this radical scheme. They're fully committed to stopping the efforts of the gun grabbers, but they need the help of grassroots gun owners like you. With liberals calling the shots in Washington, all supporters of the Second Amendment must join together, draw a line in the sand, and fight this battle to the end. We must make this gun-grab expensive and politically painful for the enemies of freedom. If we do, they'll flinch ... and LOSE. This Thursday marks the 222nd anniversary of the U. S. Constitution. In celebration of Constitution Week, we have scheduled a major call-in blitz to Congress urging them to cosponsor the Parental Rights Amendment – and the time to call is now.
We also encourage you to get your friends to call. Urge everyone you know to call their congressman and senators throughout the week. Get started today, and maybe even call back in a few days, just to see if they’re listening. Let's make it so they have no choice!
You may have called during our last blitz in July. Since then, though, many of you have visited your congressman or senator's office and spoken directly with them or with their staff. Now they are more ready to listen, and it is vital that we all call them again. Here’s all we ask you to do:
1. Check our lists of House cosponsors and Senate cosponsors. If your representative is already a sponsor, don’t call them! Consider mailing them a message of thanks instead.
2. If your congressman or senator is not on our list, go to our States Watch page and click on your state to find their contact information.
3. Call your congressman and ask him to sign on to cosponsor H.J. Res. 42, the Parental Rights Amendment, to protect parental rights and American and state sovereignty.
4. Call your senators and urge them to cosponsor S.J. Res. 16, the Parental Rights Amendment, to protect parental rights and American and state sovereignty.

2 Great news items

I want to write about my day yesterday but I'll need to do that later when it is too hot to be out in the garden. Please see Cora's blog for pictures of our new baby calves. In the meantime, though, I wanted to pass on the following information for you to ponder.

First of all I want to congratulate my friend, Kimberly, for starting her own blog. I am just thrilled every time that a home school mom starts blogging as this gives us a voice in the public arena. So often we keep our thoughts to ourselves, thinking that nobody is interested in hearing them, but people ARE INTERESTED, LADIES!!!!! The other good news has to do with the work which is being done to oppose the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. (CRC). We've been following this closely since the home school convention in March. Please note in point 2 below that we, the people, are starting to be heard. Things are pretty sick when parents have to fight for their rights to raise their own children but our enemies seek to destroy our influence with our very own flesh and blood so that THEY can fill the young one's heads full of lies which will destroy their lives!!!!!!!! Obama Administration Pushes CRC Ratification

Dear Friend of Parental Rights,
Monday in a Harlem middle school, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice told a group of 120 students that administration officials are actively discussing “when and how it might be possible to join” (that is, ratify) the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC). As before, she also communicated what a disgrace it is that the U.S. would stand with only Somalia against such a widely-accepted treaty.
This is the first direct public statement by the Obama administration that it will seek ratification of the UN CRC.
In my 30 years of political involvement, I have learned to recognize this as what is called a “trial balloon.” Like in World War I trench warfare, our opponents have “sent up a balloon” to see if it will draw fire. If things remain quiet, they will proceed with their plans to push for ratification of the CRC in the U.S. Senate.
To discourage them from doing so, we need to make sure that our voices are heard with unmistakable clarity. We must let the Obama administration know that we oppose this anti-family, anti-American treaty.
Here’s what we need you all to do:
1. Call the White House comments line at 202-456-1111. Tell them you heard the administration wants to ratify the CRC, and you strongly oppose this giving away of U.S. sovereignty to the UN. Also keep in mind that this treaty gives the government jurisdiction to override any decision made by any parent if the government thinks that a better decision can be made—even if there is no proof of any harm.
2. Call Ambassador Susan Rice’s office at the United Nations. Tell her that you want her to represent the United States to the world rather than trying to get the United States to go along with international law initiated by the UN. The US Mission at the United Nations can be reached at 212-415-4000 (press 6 to leave your message). This number has been disconnected through our efforts. You can also contact the Public Diplomacy Office at 212-415-4050. We are no longer urging calls to the U.S. office at the United Nations.
3. Contact your Senators and urge them to oppose ratification of this treaty. (Find your Senators’ contact information by typing your zip code into the box here.) Ask them also to defeat it once and for all by cosponsoring SJRes 16 – the Parental Rights Amendment.
It is very important that we speak up right now. Please call before you close this email!
