It's the LAW!

Here it is folks--this is what we energy practitioners have been working so hard for these past 16 months.  This very simply says that what we do is NOT massage and therefore we are NOT under the authority of the North Dakota Board of Massage.  Praise God for this victory which was made complete when the Governor signed it into law last week.  I thank each and every one of you who supported me through this trying time with your prayers and words of encouragement!!

Many of you may recall when the home school movement was threatened in the early '90s by an attempt to require all home school teachers to be certified teachers.  This threat came along the same lines.  The NDBOM said that we were doing massage without a license and that we would have to become massage therapists in order to do our energy work.  How ridiculous--I would never be strong enough to do massages all day long.  Besides that, if we had all wanted to become massage therapists, we WOULD have become massage therapists.

Our bill simply states that we are exempt from their demands that we become massage therapists in order to continue doing our energy healing.  This is how it reads.

Thanks again to all who showed support for me during this whole ordeal!

The Power of Prayer

Please see the short preceding post if you haven't already done so.  It says that, by many people uniting together, the North Dakota legislature has been persuaded to continue our current level of freedoms in home schooling.  We did not gain any of the further freedoms that we had hoped to gain, but we did NOT loose any of the ones that we gained in 2009.  This is a big answer to prayer which I received last night.
Now this morning I received this email from one of the Core Synchronization people who has been very active in trying to get the North Dakota Board of Massage out of our hair.  As I read it I wondered, "Can anyone hold even more joy?"  I'm sure that I'll learn how very quickly.  This is what it read.
HB 1304 passed the Senate ( 42-3) and was returned to the House unchanged
so the bill will now go to the Governor for signature.
Senators Burghard (Dist 5), Miller (Dist 16), and Warner (Dist 4) voted
against it.
This means the NDBOM has nothing to say about what we do.  However, since energy work has come into the legislative discussion, I still feel it would be good for us to work on a simple registry for the modalities where people can not only check on training, but can also find practitioners in their areas.
Thank you all again for all that you did.  If anyone gets a chance, please email sjmeyer@nd.gov and say “Thank you” for HB 1304.
XXXXXXXXXXXX
This was NOT a case of many people working together as there are very, very few people who do energy work in the state.  However, it is a case of many people praying together and THAT works too!!!!!!!
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS PRAYED FOR US ENERGY WORKERS TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE SERVING THE NEEDS OF NORTH DAKOTANS NO MATTER HOW MUCH THE NORTH DAKOTA BOARD OF MASSAGE TRIED TO SHUT US DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this a Sabbath to be remembered or what?
YES,IT IS AND I SAY, "PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!!!"

Victory

Good morning everyone,

I am elated!!!!!!!! Elizabeth just sent the folowing email to all of us BodyTalkers and I just HAD to share it with all of you. Thank you to those of you who have been praying for this victory!

Many of you may recall the struggle that we energy workers have been having with the North Dakota Board of Massage this past year. What a nightmare it's been for us with LOTS of resulting stress. Well, the nightmare is half over as the North Dakota House of Representatives voted VERY STRONGLY in favor of protecting energy workers. The exact wording of the amended bill is listed below.

We're not out of the woods yet, as the bill must still pass in the Senate. However, I feel good about the work that I've been doing on this with my Senator who is Robert Erbele. How thankful I am that God has put a Godly man in the position of being MY senator at the state level--now for such success at the Federal level.

Anyway, here is the email which I just received bearing good news of great joy! May your day be filled with such fruit for your labors today!

House Bill 1304 - re-written version
Sixty-second Legislative Assembly of North Dakota
Introduced by Representatives S. Meyer, Weisz, Delmore, Holman Senators Bowman, Erbele

A BILL for an Act to create and enact a new subsection to section 43-25-04 of the North Dakota

Century Code, relating to an exemption from massage therapy licensure for energy workers.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF NORTH DAKOTA:

SECTION 1. A new subsection to section 43-25-04 of the North Dakota Century Code is created and enacted as follows:

Any individual practicing healing by manipulating the energy field or the flow of energy of the human body by means other than the manipulation of the soft tissues of the human body , provided that the individual's services are not designated or implied to be massage or massage therapy . For purposes of this subsection, a light touch or tap is not a manipulation of the soft tissues of the human body.

The 19 representatives below voted NO on our bill to 72 YES.
I am not sure where these people are from, but I would like you to
contact people with this information and ask them to send a thank you to the representatives
in their district who are NOT on the list for voting for us.

It was just easier to print the list of people who voted NO.

Also, would everyone send a thank you to sjmeyer@nd.gov as she is the one who
has stuck with us the entire time and made this happen.

As you can see, it was a pretty strong majority who supported us--72 to 19. I am happier than I could have imagined to learn that both of my Representatives honored my request and voted in favor of this very simple bill. As they say, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." I have already written to thank them both for their support.

Now it's on to the home school bill which will be heard in the Pioneer room tomorrow at 9:30. If you're involved in home schooling, I ask you to pray about attending that meeting tomorrow morning. It is URGENT that we fill that room with home school families tomorrow! This is a critical year to show our legislators that we want them to support home schooling. The past 2 years have been spent working on getting this bill worded, "Just right" and we need to go and show support for it.

If it is impossible for you to be there tomorrow, then I urge you to make it a priority to be at the capitol on Thursday of this week. It is VERY important that the capitol be crawling with home school families that day so that the legislators realize that home schooling STILL is important to us. It is a concern to me that the fire which our early home school families had, which earned us the right to home school, seems not to burn as brightly as it did in our early days of home schooling. I certainly hope that I'm wrong in this instance.

PLEASE MEET ME AT THE CAPITOL TOMORROW MORNING AND/OR ON THURSDAY! LET'S SPEND THE TIME TOGETHER SHOWING OUR LEGISLATORS THAT NORTH DAKOTA HAS MANY FAMILIES WHO WANT TO CONTINUE HOME SCHOOLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, seeing as I know what Robert would ask at this point (End of sermon?), I guess it's time to get off of my soapbox and get to the work of home schooling Jacob today.

Thanks again to all of you who have been praying for things to work out with the massage board! What a blessing you have been to me--and to all of my clients.

Keep pressing towards the mark,

Dawn

Parental rights

Ever since we got back from the home school convention I have been feeling burdened to share what we learned there about the need for the parental right's amendment to be added to our country's Constitution. It was pretty heavy and discouraging, but we the people still have the power in this country!!! We just need to be informed about what is going on in order to do what needs to be done. What parent wouldn't want to protect their children?

Since then I've been receiving the updates from the website: parentalrights.org. I've been greatly encouraged to see that the list of cosponsors for the amendment is growing steadily. What do we need to do? Go to this site and read up on why this is so important. Check to see if your representative is a sponsor or not. If he/she is, then write and thank them for doing what is right. If not, then start hounding them. I just wrote another e-mail to mine and asked him to list the reasons for his name not being on the co-sponsor list. What is he anti-family or what? As bad as things are in this country, I think it's pretty safe to say that most of our congresspeople do NOT want to be thought of as being anti-family. Why it's un-American.

PLEASE TAKE THIS THREAT SERIOUSLY. Already some liberal judges in our country have ruled against parents as though the UN is running this country already. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

One family had their children taken away from them because one of the children thought that the parents took him to church "Too often". This was Sunday morning; Sunday night; and Wednesday night. I was raised going to church that often--even more if we were working on music. I guess I wasn't traumatized too much by being in the house of God that often, but we live in a world that hates God. The judge ruled with the child saying that once a week is enough church for anyone. The parents now know that, if they take their children to church more than once a week, they will have their children taken away from them. THIS IS SICK PEOPLE!!!!!

We must work together to ensure that children will be under the care of their parents and not some sick social worker or judge. "What if the parents are sick?" I can hear some brains asking. I ought to know--I lived under those conditions. Well, then a loving social worker should see to it that the children are put into loving foster homes. How many are there of them? No--that is not a good argument for taking children away from their parents for picky little things. The overwhelming majority of parents care about what happens to their children more than any social worker does. Believe me I know, I WAS a social worker.

So, I urge you to take a little time to get informed about this critical issue. Dr. Farris shared at the convention that there is not a lot of time for us to get the masses moving. This is being worked on right now. PLEASE PRAY ABOUT THIS!!!

This is the email I just received from parentalrights.org

Saving Motherhood
This Sunday we celebrate Mother’s Day in the United States. If you are a mother, we thank you and salute you for the invaluable work you do in fulfilling that vital role in the life of your children, and the heritage of our nation!
Sadly, the United Nations would hold such a sentiment to be discriminatory against women. In 2000, the United Nations CEDAW Committee (named for the Convention to End All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, or CEDAW) criticized the nation of Belarus for “the reintroduction of such [sex-role stereotype] symbols as a Mother’s Day and a Mothers’ Award, which it sees as encouraging women’s traditional roles.” [See paragraph 361 on page 37 of the UN document here.]
For our part, ParentalRights.org is proud to encourage women in the role of mother, as we are proud of loving fathers for the part they play. The fact is, the role of parents in directing the upbringing and education of their children is a precious and fundamental right. It should not be looked down on, nor stolen, by international governing bodies such as the CEDAW Committee, nor the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), like CEDAW, is an international treaty attempting to dictate domestic policy. Like CEDAW, it has set up a panel of UN “experts” to “advise” nations who are not in compliance with the treaty, setting international law policy which activist judges then incorporate into national law.
Unlike CEDAW, however, the UNCRC does not oppose Mother’s Day. Rather, it constitutes an attack on Motherhood itself, replacing fundamental parental rights with bureaucratic oversight at a federal and international level. Perhaps if we ratified both treaties we could just replace Mother’s Day with Social Worker’s Day, and the UN would be pleased.
The only permanent solution to prevent U.S. ratification of the UNCRC is the Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which includes the provision that “No treaty may be adopted nor shall any source of international law be employed to supersede, modify, interpret, or apply to [fundamental parental rights].” This would finally end the threat of UNCRC ratification in the United States. While that alone may not preserve Mother’s Day, it can at least save Motherhood from international interference.
Please, as you value your own parents and your rights as parents to raise your own children, take a moment to forward this email to every mother you know – or even everyone who has a mother – and be sure to wish them “Happy Mother’s Day!” To sign the petition or to learn more about the dangers of the UNCRC or the need for the Parental Rights Amendment, visit us on the web at parentalrights.org.

Answers: Does the Tenth Amendment Already Protect Parental Rights?
If that rumor were true, the Amendment would be unnecessary - but the Supreme Court's ruling on that is crystal clear.

Just read

Well, I just read that the House passed the home school bill today. This is a victory but, of course, it must pass the Senate's scrutiny too. Already an amendment has been added which says that this is merely a trial period. We will be evaluated again and again and again until it becomes apparent to them that more regulation does not mean better results. Well, at least now more families can get started and that means more children being kept safe at home. This has always been one of my major motivators in conquering my fears of home schooling, especially through the high school years.
We went to Bismarck today to the agri-international to see all of the new farm equipment. I don't know how they think the farmers are supposed to be able to afford all of those outrageous prices when what we get for our crops is way down again. We had our one good year last year, I guess. Anyway, I'm not interested enough anymore to go sit on all of the tractors so I did sessions at Terry's Health Food store. It is sooooo wonderful to see people starting to respond to their sessions. One lady has been able to eat tomatoes after 3 years of abstinence. She used to balloon up with fluid after eating fruit and now her fingers only swelled a little. The human body is mysterious beyond imagination but, praise God, I don't have to understand how BodyTalk works. I don't know how my van works either but care only that it gets me home at the end of the day. I know that BT works and I know that people who are being healed are praising the Lord with stronger voices than they did before--those who praise Him anyway. I can't imagine being healed and not giving the Lord the credit. May He receive all of the praise for what He has done for my healing and all of those I work with.

THEY'RE MARRIED!!! YAYYYYY

Hi Everyone,   So much has happened since I've had time to write here.  Yes, my son married the love of his life!  Yes, the wedding was...
