Upper and lower

Hi everyone,

Yes, I'm swamped again but I just HAD to share these 2 links with you.  I don't know about you, but I have started hundreds (ok, dozens) of exercise programs and usually end up quitting because they either take too much time; don't do what they said they would; or I was just plain too lonely.

Leave it to Dr. Mercola to have the solution AGAIN--don't you just love that guy?  Anyway, last month I ordered these 2 simple exercise kits from him to see if they could help this aging body to forget all that it's been through--kind of perk up the old girl.  I knew that Dr. Mercola wouldn't recommend something if it weren't truly awesome so I forked over some of my hard-earned money and dreamed again.

Well, this is IT!!!  For me anyway, this is it!  I am in love with this exercise program!!!!  It takes 15 minutes a day to do each segment--you can do 1 or 2 or all 4 if you like.  There is the upper body shaper; the complete core workout; tight thighs; and bottoms up.

I really like that it is broken down by body areas needing work as I need to spend 70% of my exercise time working on my upper body to get that cold energy warmed up inside of me.  The best part of it, though, is that I have somebody to work out with!

I have to tell you something funny.  I told this to Jacob earlier this week and he cracked up.  Anyway, as I was working out, I kept looking at Kathy Smith (who is no spring chicken either) and found myself thinking, "I look like her.  I look like her."  This was because I had actually forked over $13 and bought myself a pair of exercise pants seeing that it is NOT possible to do these workouts in a dress--the only bad thing about it.  So with our black exercise pants; T-shirts; white tennis shoes; and greying (sorry Kristi--BLOND)  hair, I really DID think I looked like Kathy Smith.

So, I was all excited and kept thinking, "I look like her, I look like her, I look like her."  Then I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the bookcase glass and sighed, "Ok, I don't look like her."  Then I turned back to the laptop, where the DVD was playing, and with a great surge of exuberance I declared to myself, "BUT I WILL LOOK LIKE HER!"

Seeing as this blog is all about sharing what hope I have found with others who are searching for hope and encouragement, I share these links.  I bought both kits and am actually seeing results with only 2 weeks of work.  I'm hardly ready to be seen in a bikini (wouldn't do that anyway), but my heart is picking up hope as warm weather approaches.  I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY WANT TO LOOK GOOD THIS SUMMER!!!!

Back to Sabbath preparations.  I wish you all a wonderful Sabbath filled with the love of those you hold dear!  Here are the links to a brand new you!

Frustrated and Farming

This is ridiculous. I have been feasting since Sunday night after half a month of fasting on the Master Cleanse. This means that in the past 48 hours I have had several white flour buns; lots of our baked beans; plenty of tortilla chips with salsa and hot cheese dip; 1 glass of punch; and 3 pieces of cake. Today I have a sore throat. How can that be? I fought off Robert's bug for almost a month as long as I stayed off of sugar and white flour. Now just a few "Cheats" later, I have a sore throat which is how Robert's bug started. ): I guess I just cannot handle sugar and that's that. Of course, I also know that stress plays a role in weakening our immune systems and I've had a little of that this weekend too.

Then today I GOT to drive tractor most of the afternoon. I was complaining to Robert that I kept picking up rocks in between the disc blades. This means that I had to take the 100 pound (only a slight exaggeration) disc wrench out to the disc. After using leverage to pry the rocks out, I had to drag that thing back to the cab; hoist it up to the floor of the cab which is about 2 feet above my head; climb back in the tractor; and then lift it over the seat as it rests behind the seat. Robert told me not to complain about being held up with all of this because, when I was finished discing, I get to pick rocks. LOVELY!!!!!!!

I finally got the field finished about 4:00 and then did some deep reciprocals while I waited for Cora and Jacob to pick me up with the 9030. Jacob drove and Cora and I picked rocks until 7:00. It was cool and damp and miserable and my throat started to REALLY hurt. This was when I decided that I better get back to placing my health as a priority.

So I'm going in to my room to exercise. According to Peggy Brill, the author of the Core program, you should never skip more than 2 days in a row or your muscles will start to go backwards. I didn't do it last night because I wanted to finish my post about the graduation party. I didn't exercise for 2 nights before as I was at the graduation party or preparing for it, but now I am going. My neck and shoulders really ache and that is the best antidote, so I'm going now. :)

Can you tell that I'm trying to talk myself into this? Why is it that I never need to talk myself into eating sugar or white flour, when I know that they are bad for me? Why must I talk hard to convince myself that it is time to exercise or mix up a new batch of lemonade? I suppose the reason is that I am a sinner and like Paul says, "That which I would not, I do; and that which I would do, I don't." Sometimes I get so sick of the sin in me that I could just scream, "Why didn't anybody love me enough to use the rod on me when I was little?" Proverbs 22:15 says, "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him." Now I am stuck as an adult, with all of this foolishness in me, and I have to wait until God can get through my thick skull to prune it out of me. PLEASE FORGIVE ME, LORD, AND DO YOUR GOOD WORK IN SPITE OF ME TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Master Cleans 2--Day 2

I didn't get to post last night and have wanted to write a little about yesterday, so here goes.
Day 2 on the MC this time was very different than the first time. I can recall that last time the first 3 days were TERRIBLE--lots of aches and pains. The pain was so bad on those days that I had to soak in the whirlpool during the daytime. I LOVE soaking in the whirlpool at night, at the end of a busy day when my neck and shoulders hurt the worst. Usually if I soak during the day, though, I feel so lazy that my internal stress overcomes the benefits from the whirlpool. Still, when the pain is terrible, I soak during the day.
This time there was hardly any pain at all. I think it's because this time I am doing the Core exercises that strengthen the mid-section. On days that I don't do the core program I hurt a LOT more than other days so dah, do the exercises. It takes all of 15 minutes.
So today I am going to share about Peggy Brill PT, which stands for physical therapist. She designed this exercise program for women that REALLY works no matter how out of shape a person is. I ought to know. Being laid up for 1 year and a half did not do my body any good. I gained 30 pounds and couldn't lift or carry anything without extreme pain so I didn't have much hope of getting back in shape. These exercises are so easy to do that anyone can learn and do them AND they require very little time. The payoffs are great--less joint pain, less shoulder pain, less neck pain, less hip pain. You get the picture.
In Peggy's book, THE CORE PROGRAM, she explains why each exercise is useful for strengthening saggy muscles. There is even one where you stick your tongue out--REALLY--and it's GOOD FOR YOU!!!
I encourage anyone who wants to start a simple exercise program to get Peggy's book. She was 4 1/2 months pregnant in the pictures and I would salivate to have her waistline. Peggy says that exercise is the way to keep old age at bay. I suppose that's why Cora and I redecorated my blog this morning--because I finally have hope of recovering the years the shingles stole from me. Through Peggy I have come to see that exercise really is a good thing and it really is possible to start at any age or physical state. She says that she has women in their 80s doing the Core program every day. I'm sold, ladies, and I encourage you to go to Peggy's website to check out the details of how she is helping women all around the country to reverse the "Inevitable" affects of aging. COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Here's the website link:http://www.brillpt.com/
I'll write about day 3 tonight--at least that's the plan. I want to share with you the best place to buy the organic Grade B maple syrup. We shopped around last cleanse and found this really great buy on it. A person has to save every place we can.
Just a note to say that my dad is doing much better. Thanks for all of your prayers for him and us.

How does God know?
